RPL progress

The Process

The process of applying for RPL in a trade can be a daunting prospect and it is more work than you might think.  In an effort to make this as easy and straight forward as possible, I am creating an electronic form as the initial contact method and on-line units in Moodle.

A simple thing I have been told just an interview and fill in form, gather evidence and submit it for assessment.  But how and how much and what type and and and…

What units are you applying for?  How the hell should I know, well I am rectifying that too in the application form.

Videos with descriptions of what you are doing and why, references from Builders/Employers, letters from clients, past certificates and qualifications, , EWP (Elevated Work Platform licensed),  Oh&Safety certifications, or attainment for any courses completed at school, work etc.  As much evidence as you can get together and have authenticated by an authorised tafeSA officer.

I recommend Creating a new Moodle Account

You may need to enroll though you should not it has been set up as an application process and problems message me on rob.beckett@tafesa.edu.au or through Moodle messages.  Don’t feel that you are alone we will try our best to accommodate you as much as we can and help identify any Gap training that you may need and how to get it done.

Cheers and Happy RPL-ing  We need more qualified people in the industry..

About wallandceiling

I currently design, create and administer over 180 Moodle online courses as part of a project in tafeSA with the BJIT Business Services Team. This project has highlighted a need for training in Moodle and how to implement and maintain courses online. I have been a lecturer in Wall & Ceiling Lining (Drywall for Americans) in Adelaide South Australia involved in the CPSISC validation of the CPC08 National Training packages and the CBA Program to build capacity in assessment through the use of Action Learning and Assessment for Learning principles.
